The Union Park Neighborhood Association and SparkUP Committee are busy planning the third annual old fashioned Independence Day Celebration in Union Park, just north of the Rocket Slide. The events starts at noon on July 4th. First will be the Presentation of the Colors, Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem. Then the fun starts with a free lunch of hot dogs, chips, watermelon and water and other favorites. Karaoke, a mosaic, music, and water balloon dodge ball will follow. The day culminates with a movie in the park. Games and bounce houses for the kids and competition games for adults will be available throughout the day. The Heritage Carousel will offer free rides from 12:00 to 4:00. There is something for every age group. More Info
Eliot Schilling is a dancer and choreographer from Churdan, Iowa. Her experience includes performing at regional and national dance festivals, as well as collaborating on community arts projects. She is passionate about using movement to bring people together and create meaningful shared experiences. Eliot is excited to contribute her love of movement to this one-of-a-kind community event.
